Federica De Lorenzi is a Ph.D. researcher at RWTH Aachen University (DE). She holds a M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Urbino (IT) 2016. Her research focuses on the characterization of the tumor microenvironment (TME) features on patient-derived cancer specimens. Based on this characterization, she develops bio-printing strategies and state-of-the-art biomimetic 3D in vitro models for unraveling dynamic biological events, incl. metastasis, angiogenesis, immune responses, and intercellular cross-talk. During her Ph.D., Federica, as part of ExMI, has established or extended collaborations with Prof. Fischer (Dental Materials Science and Biomaterial Research, RWTH Aachen University Hospital), Dr. Stillfried (Institute of Pathology, RWTH Aachen University Hospital), Dr. Maurer (Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics, RWTH Aachen University Hospital), and PL BioScience GmbH (DE). In addition to her research activities, Federica is a member of the Tumor-Targeted Drug Delivery Research Training Group (RTG 2375).
