Stefan (Dr.-techn. in Physics, Vienna University of Technology and CERN, 2014) works on the development of novel analog detector modules for time-of-flight positron emission tomography (TOF-PET). His research is focused on improving ultra-fast emission mechanisms and light transport in inorganic scintillators, improving the timing performance of solid-state photon detectors (silicon photomultipliers) and of the associated front-end readout. Further, he is working on the transfer of promising lab-results and concepts to multichannel systems. Stefan is also actively engaged in the 10 ps timing challenge for TOF-PET.
