Christopher (MD student, RWTH Aachen University) currently works on the optimization of chemotherapeutic passage through the blood-brain barrier using focused ultrasound. For this project, an in-vitro model of the blood-brain barrier will be established and utilized for the identification of drugs that benefit most from sonopermeation. Following, tailored microbubbles will be used to allow for a targeted release of chemotherapy. Focus is laid on pharmaceuticals used in metastasis treatment. His work is funded by the DFG RTG 2375.
