Alessandro (M.D.; UVVG University of Arad, Romania, 2016) joined ExMI in 2020 as a medical researcher, after having served few years as a physician, with prominent interest and experience in interventional radiology. Within the context of the EU/NRW-founded TAKTIRA-project, Alessandro is establishing 3D multicellular tumor spheroids for unraveling the dynamics between cancer, stromal and immune cells. Such advanced in vitro tools will be further used to assess the properties of the immuno-modulatory drugs called "Immune System Engagers" (ISErs). In addition, he engages with bioprinting strategies for improving the applicability and biomimetic relevance of in vitro models in cancer research.
