Tarushyam obtained his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar in 2021 and currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Institute for Experimental Molecular Imaging (ExMI, Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, DE) and Institute of Organic Chemistry, RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Tarushyam developed and characterized several cell organelle specific probes to elucidate the dynamic behaviour of the tiny cellular world during his PhD work in India and France (University of Strasbourg). Later, he worked briefly in the field of DNA nanotechnology as a postdoctoral researcher in Arizona State University, USA. Currently, his research focusses on the development of the organic molecules as next generation toolbox for imaging biological systems. Under the broader umbrella of theragnostic agents, he is particularly interested in designing chemical moieties for protein specific labelling, photodynamic therapy and exploring cellular dynamics in different metabolic states.
